Anthropic has discontinued complimentary access to its Claude AI for external applications. Boris Cherny, the founder and Claude Code lead, announced via X that Claude subscriptions will cease to include gratis usage of the AI agent in third-party platforms such as OpenClaw. Starting 3 PM Eastern Time on April 4, individuals accessing Claude through external apps or programs must acquire an additional usage package or a Claude API key, Cherny stated.
